A bit of Morocco

Just come back from a nice little break in Morocco. Was nice to be surfing in boardies for week. Even managed to bring home a bit of tan. And a Toblerone. Big thanks to Errant Surf for sorting it all out. Yalla. Here’s a few shots….

I’m rubbish at blogging…

OK it’s been ages since I wrote on here. I used to do all the posts through my iPhone, but that died at Glastonbury, so I haven’t been keeping up to date. More updates soon on some new projects and clients.

Messing about with the GoPro Surf Camera…

My girlfriend recently picked up one of the new wide angle GoPro Surf cameras, and this week we stuck it on the nose of her longboard. Here’s a clip from the first outing at the less than brilliant close out marathon that is Great Western inĀ  Newquay Bay.

Testing out the Tokina 10-17mm Fisheye lens…

A while ago I invested in Canon EOS 40D, funnily enough I’ve never actually owned a digital camera, my phone has always been good enough for point and shoot duty, and I’ve never been able to afford the kind of SLR I’ve always wanted. Becoming self employed, as well as taking up more print work, [...]

Forcing IE7 mode in IE8 – peace on earth.

I was just asked to fix a few problems on a site I made pre IE8, and was expecting a few hours of hitting F5 and chaning padding values, when I noticed the little broken page icon in IE8, I’d never noticed it before, so clicked it. Bam. The pages all looked fine!
Turns out this [...]

File Conversion Website for opening WPS Files on a Mac

I’d been given some WPS files full of content for a new site I was working on, but couldn’t get them to open at all on my Mac for love nor money (well, that’s not true, I could have coughed up for MacLink Plus). All the Google searching resulted in “it’s impossible” or convert it [...]

Working with Video

EasyBook & EasyCaptcha problems…

I’ve been using the fantastic EasyBook on a few sites for while now, and apart from a great guestbook solution, it also provided my sites with a bucket load of spam. At the request of one of my larger clients, I looked into stopping, or at least minimizing the amount of junk emails and guestbook entries they were receiving.

Dynamic Image Resizing with PHP

I’ve used this script in loads of projects over the last few years, when I Google for PHP image resizing I always end up back in the same place! Very good for quick and easy live resizing, with some more advanced features like constraining widths and heights. You’ll need GD2 running on your server, but [...]
